Our first litter was born on 10 september 2004 . Mother Babouschka gave birth
to 4 girls and 4 boys all eager . Father is our own Caleb. Sadly as
we learned years later both Caleb and Babousch Are carrier of the
LPN1 mutation. This resulted in 4 of this litter being effected with
Polyneuropathy caused by the LPN1 mutation.
For research purposes blood was sent from the parents and pups
to both university of Bern & Minnesota.
Breeders and owners from all over the world did the same and since
July 2010 a DNA test has become available. so from now on we can
test the dogs we breed with. If we breed with only clear dogs (N/N
X N/N) or Carrier x Clear (D/N X N/N) no dogs with this type of Polyneuropathy need be born ever again!
